An Indonesian factory serves 124 customers across 29 countries. One of America's best-known luxury retailers accounts for 3.3% of its shipments — one account among a hundred and twenty-four.
The surprise isn't that brands share factories. It's that the factory barely notices the brand.
And one of them went further. Rochdale Spears — five thousand employees, 140,000 m² — now sells furniture under its own label. The plant that supplies RH and Arhaus competes with them at retail. It acquired the thing its customers think is the hard part, while keeping the thing they gave away.
